Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about purchasing and shipping your storage containers.
What is the difference between New (One-Trip) and Used containers?
One-Trip containers are manufactured overseas, loaded once with cargo to reach the US, and are in pristine condition. Used containers have been in service for 10-15 years and will show signs of wear, including dents, surface rust, and patches, but remain wind and water tight.
How much space do I need for delivery?
A 20ft container requires approximately 60 feet of straight-line clearance, while a 40ft container requires at least 100 feet. The delivery site must be level and firm enough to support the weight of the truck and the unit.
Are storage containers wind and water tight?
Yes, all containers sold by Midstate Containers are inspected to ensure they are 'Wind and Water Tight' (WWT). This means the seals are intact and there are no holes, ensuring your belongings stay dry and protected from the elements.
Do I need a permit to put a container on my property?
Permit requirements vary significantly by city and county. We recommend checking with your local municipal planning or zoning department before scheduling delivery to ensure compliance with local regulations.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards, wire transfers, and certified checks. For business accounts and bulk orders, we also offer financing options and net-term invoicing upon credit approval.
Can I modify my container after purchase?
Absolutely. We offer a variety of custom modifications including roll-up doors, windows, HVAC installation, and custom paint. Please contact our sales team to discuss your specific modification needs.
